All visitors traveling to mainland China whether for business or pleasure, require a visa. Visas for individual travel to China are quite easy to get. You may apply directly to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China or one of several Chinese Consulates in your country.
Visa is very important and are considered to be matters of national security, and as such are taken very seriously by all countries. Failure to organize the correct visa may result in you being sent home before you reach China, as these restrictions are considered very important, and travel outside of China subjects you to the same travel procedures as other international travelers.
Below are the general requirements for applying a Chinese Visa:
a) A completed Visa Application form. Forms are available in your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate, or can be downloaded from the official website of the Chinese Embassy in your country.
b) A recent 2-inch (4cmX 6cm)full-face bareheaded half-length photo.
c) Valid Passport. Passport should be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of travel and enough blank visa pages.
