Located at the foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping District, about 50 kilometers northwest of the city area of Beijing, Ming Tombs is actually a range of imperial mausoleum constructions of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The site chosen was south of the Weihe River beside the slopes of Black Horse Mountain in what is now Lintong county, 30 kilometers (18 miles) from Xian.
The Qianling Tomb is where the third Tang-dynasty emperor and his empress were buried together. The third emperor was Li Zhi and his empress was Empress Wu Zetian. This is the most representative among the eighteen Tang-dynasty tombs and the best preserved.
The Maoling Mausoleum is located in Maoling Village of Nanwei Town on the Weibei altiplano, about 40km north of Xi'an City in Shaanxi Province.
Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is located at the foot of the Wanzhu Peak on the south of Zhongshan Mountain in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. It is the tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of Ming Dynasty, which is one of the biggest Emperor Mausoleums existed now.
Situated 42 km southeast of Turpan, the graves are the cemetery of the ancient Gaochang residents. It served as graveyard of the citizens of Gaochang from 273 in the Western Jin Dynasty to 778 in the Tang Dynasty.
